The windows operating system, by Microsoft, is the most well known and popular operating system on the planet. It has been around in various iterations for many years now. A key component of that operating system is the windows registry. This is the main database for pretty much everything that the operating system does, as well as the links it has to where information is stored on the hard drive. Without this database working properly the system itself cannot function.
